We all have a duty to learn words like olgarchy and oligarch. To have a duty means to act as a good person doing what they owe. Good people know they haave a duty to learn about their government. It is their duty. Many big words like oligarchy help us learn about our government.

No matter what anyone tells us, ever, we must remember this one duty: learning to live as a good citizen means learning about our government and the people in our government. This is why we have public eductation, mostly. So we have a duty to learn big words. We also have a duty to learn how to use these big words. We have a duty to our families, friends, neighbors, and dother people on our planet. To do one's duty means to have honor.

Oligarchy means just one person rules. Sometimes oligarchy means a few people rule. We might call mom or dad an "oligarch" when it comes to rules. But this is play, not grownup politics.

Grownup's politics means how mom and dad find money to feed us. I means how mom and dad pay their bills to house and feed us. Grownup's politics also means how and where we go to school. What we learn in school comes from grownup politics. Even television stories comr from grownup's politics. In politics an oligarch has lots of power to rule. They may own a newspaper. They may tell newspapers what to write. They may do the same to television people. They many tell radio people what to day. No one needs to know that the oligarch rules. It's kept secret, but not always.

In some ways, an oligarch even tell our president what to do. An oligarch gives the president rules, but other people carry these rules to the president.

In our nation's capital, oligarchs hire many "lobbyists." A lobbyist tries to give rules to our president. Lobbyists also give rules to our nation's senators. They also try to give rules to our nation's nation's house of representatives.

Lobbyists promist to give these politicians money. Sometimes they promise to help them get elected. Sometimes lobbyists promise a new job to these politicans. In their new jobs these politicians may become lobbyists, too. Sometimes they might work for a corporation. Some corporations have oligarchs for rulers. These oligarchs may give the rules for new war machines. Airplanes, submarines, and tanks are war machines. Oligarchs want to sell their war machines to our military. Their lobbyists help them.

Some times oligarchs talk like they are kings or queens.People with power have somethinig in common with kings and queens. They have lots money. With money they have power. This means they can hire people to protect their money and their power.

In the old days of kings and gueens, knights on horse protected the king and queens' money and power. Today, accountant and lawyers help protect oligarchs power and money. They do this by pushing taxes away. They use their money and power to hire lobbyists. Lobbyists tell our government not to tax the rich. In return the rich reward the politicians. In this way the oligarchs protect their money and power.

Oligarch's accountants and lawyers also move their oligarch's money to other countries.
