I learned to swim in the Pacific Ocean by playing in Seal Beach's surf. I enjoyed many mornings and afternoons playing in the surf and enjoying the sandy beach with my family. So, I waited a few weeks before adding this observation about the Seal Beach homicide cleanup that made national news. A crazy man entered a beuty salon on Pacific Coast Highway in Seal Beach. He then shot and murdered eight innocent victims. Then, the fled. According to one report he had a large number of weapons in his position. How the Seal Beach Police managed not to kill this guy remains a mystery. I suppose that's what our justice system expects of them. Good work guys.

Then there's that little matter of the Seal Beach crime scene cleanup of a mass murder scene, something I've waited to to write about.

Since I live about seven miles from Seal Beach, Orange County, in a rational society, I would have expected a telephone call asking me to bid for the Seal Beach crime scene cleanup. But, living in Orange County means I do not live in a rational society. Here our local government employees have a monopoly over Orange County crime scene cleanup. Probably other businesses, too. I know this. My wife knows this, and everyone who knows me knows this. Of course, many county employees know this fact.

My wife thinks that, "At least it wasn't one of the local crony companies that got the call." I agree. A county employee made a lot of money by making one telephone call to a cleaning company. The cleaning company did what it's expected to do. Clean. My wife says that said company's employees looked very "professional." "Good,"

I say. If we're to have crony capitalism in Orange County, then at least this once the county's crony biohazard cleanup companies got cut out, just like me.

There's nothing I can say or do for those homicide victims' lives. I can continue my work to end Orange County employees' profitting from their murders.
